More Election Promises from Labor

The ACT Labor Party has pledged $10million over four years to improve ACTION if it is re-elected at next month's elections.

The funding will be spent on more frequent services, more shelters and seating. There are also plans to introduce a free tourist loop service and a lunchtime service from the Parliamentary Triangle into the city.

The Greens, meanwhile are saying that these latest pledges do not do enough to reverse the damage done by Network 06.

Brindabella candidate Amanda Bresnan points out there is no mention of any additional buslanes - something that is lacking in Canberra. "We have three major roads into Tuggeranong, not one of them has a busway".

Ms Bresnan did welcome the additional infrastructure "I guess one of the things we would say in regards to that is that people are waiting for up to an hour for a service so they will need something to wait under," she said

"So it's good to see they are actually going to put in some bus shelters for these people."
